Marine coins really are far and few and from time to time we want to highlight incredible coins that are being released into the hobby on a daily basis. This coin from the 1st Iraqi Army Division represents the training team from the USMC. This is not your average coin that leaves a mint. in fact this coin is laced with beautiful features. The high polish gold trim easily separates the coin from many just in that feature along. Then look at the Eagle, Anchor, and Globe and you will see the fine detail all put up in 3D. This is one of the nicer Marine coin we have seen in 2008.
The coin brings the beautiful twisted diamond cut edging to define the coin. As a 1.75″ coin in solid brass it rises above the sea of small coins normal Marine coins usually have made because of limited funding. These fine leathernecks truly went to the next level and left with something they will be proud of for the rest of their lives. They went to U.S. Challenge Coins for this coin and we can’t blame them. They always put out solid coins that easily shine above the rest. They paid factory cost and still walked away with this beauty…
